The UNOde50 brand was created in the late 1990s. a group of innovators who sought to change existing patterns in jewelry. Combining the accumulated traditions and modern trends, they laid the foundation for the development of a unique brand that embodies the consistently high quality of handicraft, the spirit of craftsmanship and exclusivity of design.
History of the UNOde50 brand
The brand began its history with the release of exclusive products in a limited edition of 50 units worldwide. This philosophy is reflected in the brand name UNOde50 (“one of fifty”).
Over time, in the wake of the overwhelming success of UNOde50, the scale of production has grown, but the brand name has remained unchanged as a reminder that the highest quality and exclusivity in the design of each type of product remains the most important priority in the development of the brand.
Today, the company continues to produce unique models in a limited edition of 50 units in each collection, thereby remaining true to the principle of exclusivity. The symbol of the Spanish jewelry brand – a small padlock – is not just an emblem. Its rounded outlines and handmade traces symbolize the exclusivity and uniqueness of the design of jewelry produced under the UNOde50 brand.
handmade process
The creation of handicrafts is one of the principles of UNOde50. The birth of a new design is a unique process in the world of jewelry. UNOde50 products still use the handmade methods and techniques that were used at the very beginning of the development of this brand. The entire process (product design, molding, casting, coating, installation of jewelry elements, finishing and finishing) is carried out only in Spain.
Inspiration on paper
Designers begin the creative process by looking for a theme to inspire a new collection. Once this issue is resolved, they begin to work on sketches that will help determine the necessary materials for the manufacture of the product.
casting process
The design of all UNOde50 products is characterized by the use of silver or gold-plated metal alloy with leather, cotton threads, resins or crystals. Casting of products is made from an alloy of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper – ZAMAK. With such an alloy, which has become a characteristic feature of the brand, it is quite difficult to work with. At the same time, due to its casting properties, it allows you to get an unusual handmade texture, which gives a special liveliness to all products.
At the next stage, the same design team proceeds to the creation and manual processing of casting models. Depending on the size, thickness and elements of a particular product, designers choose the type of wax or other material for making a model of a future masterpiece.
First, a piece of wax is given the necessary shape with a hacksaw. Then, with cutters, files and scrapers, all the missing design elements are applied.
The next step is grinding and polishing the wax model. For this purpose, spatulas and a spirit lamp are used, which helps to heat the model to the desired temperature, which makes it possible to easily give it the desired shape.
After creating an exact copy of the wax model, a mold is made into which a special UNOde50 metal alloy will be poured to obtain a finished casting.
