Hagler Stanley is the name of a famous American jeweler and designer. His exquisite jewelry was created for about fifty years – from 1953 to 1996. Hagler performed his work for the popular firms Lord & Taylor and Bergdorf Goodman. After Hagler passed away in 1996, his designer pieces continued to be produced under the Stanley Hagler & Company brand.

He gave one of his first pieces of jewelry to the heir to the British throne, the Duchess of Windsor. She became the first in the list of his rich and famous clients. It was in the late 40s in New York, and in the early 50s, more precisely in 1953, Stanley created his own company.

All jewelry Hagler made by hand, the collections were produced in limited quantities, many jewelry were made in a single copy.

Until 1979 he was the only designer in his company. In 1979 he was joined by an equally talented designer, Mark Mercy. Stanley Hagler moved his company to Florida in 1983 and Mark Mercy followed with him. In 1989 the talented designer Jan Gelar joined them and stayed with them until 1993.

Stanley Hagler himself continued to create until 1994, but was forced to retire for health reasons.

After Hagler’s death in 1996, both of his assistants began to fight for the rights to the company, slandering each other. There were many stories in the style of “he told me, and he answered me”, a lot of rumors and gossip and mutual accusations. Until now, there are two, not similar to each other, stories of the creation and development of the brand, told by opponents.
