Robert Lee Morris (born 1947) is an American jeweler, designer and sculptor who drew his inspiration from nature.
One of the most important things that the designer created is a recognizable style, a unique artistic language, thanks to which Morris’s jewelry acquired the status of highly artistic jewelry.
Robert Lee Morris began his career with a bold collection of silver and brass pieces in a futuristic style.
The young talent was very lucky: his creations were noticed by the owner of a rather prestigious art gallery in Boston, and soon Morris was invited to exhibit his works for public viewing in the Sculpture to Wear jewelry gallery, which was located in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel.
The exhibition was a success and became a good springboard for the career of the young designer. This allowed Robert to open his own gallery, Artwear, in New York in 1977, and many leading brands showed a desire to work with him.
Collaboration with Calvin Klein in 1981 brought Robert a Coty award. Robert Morris also received 2 CFDA awards from the Council of Fashion Designers of America: in 1985 and 1994. In 2011, Morris sold his creation to Haskell Jewels.
His clients were:
- Madonna
- Cher
- Jagger
- Janet Jackson
- Oprah Winfrey and others
From the 1990s to 2000s, Morris created a line of fine watches and jewelry called the RLM Collection.
