Rebecca Collins – Italian jewelry manufacturer
The Rebecca Collins company was founded in 1998 by one of the pioneers of modern trends in jewelry fashion Alessandro Testi, a native of the town of Da Vinci, not far from Florence, in the province of Tuscany. According to legend, the spirit of the great Leonardo da Vinci, who was born and worked here, still hovers in these places, the same spirit that inspires local creators and contributes to the development and prosperity of fashion, design and unique style in the Florence area. Perhaps due to this inexplicable circumstance, the design bureau, headquarters and production facilities of world-famous Italian brands – Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Salvatore Ferragammo, Gucci – are also located in these places.
For some romantic reason unknown to us, the Company was named after a popular South African actress, Rebecca. For the first three years, she was the official face of the Company and represented its products.
Having foreseen the rapid development of style and fashion for steel jewelry, Mr. Testi became one of the few trendsetters in this segment of the jewelry market. All Rebecca products are made of 316L alloy steel combined with rubber, inlaid with 750-carat gold, 950-carat platinum, inserts of white and black diamonds, natural semi-precious stones. Steel is specially made to order for Rebecca in Switzerland, it is hypoallergenic, resistant to sea water, salt, sun, does not darken and is not subject to corrosion.
Diamonds are purchased in Antwerp (Belgium) and Amsterdam (Holland). Calibrated natural semi-precious stones are supplied from India, which is important in terms of the technology of manufacturing steel products with stones.
The design of the jewelry is developed on a computer. Using the CAD-CAM system, the computer automatically calculates all the parameters of the product for production. Then, this information is sent to the main production computer, which gives commands to the metalworking machines. After cutting, the products are washed in a special solution and sent for finishing and finishing. Using special sandpapers, circles and materials, each Rebecca product is finished and polished by hand. The final stage is inserting stones and final polishing.
Rebecca has developed a special technology for setting cameos in steel. Traditionally, manufacturers of steel jewelry first insert a gold cast (spacer) into the steel, into which the stone is then attached. This protects the diamond or natural semi-precious stone from destruction. Unlike them, Rebecca immediately attaches stones to steel without damaging the insert.
Thus, steel, a man-made material, is a symbol of the unique Rebecca collection, carrying the spirit of strength, beauty, brilliance and resilience.
The success of the company’s products was stunning. Having started its march from Italy, Rebecca quickly won the hearts of other Europeans, Americans and even the Japanese. Annual sales of jewelry regularly double. The network of salons and boutiques around the world, where the company’s products are presented, are growing exponentially.
Imitation or even attempts at counterfeiting have always reflected the success of a particular business. The incredible popularity of Rebecca jewelry is emphasized by the fact that since last year many jewelry manufacturers in Italy began to produce steel products “a la” Rebecca, trying to copy its collections. However, the quality of these counterfeits leaves much to be desired and is not comparable to the original.
Thanks to the highest quality and exquisite design, Rebecca jewelry in boutiques and salons in Europe, the USA and Japan neighbors with such giants of the world jewelry and fashion market as Faberge, Damiani, Alfieri & St. John, Carera y Carera, Chopard, Dior, Bvlgari, Pascuali Bruni, Mikimoto and others. And this despite the fact that the cost of Rebecca products is incomparable with the cost of their famous “neighbors” on the counter and fluctuates from 60-70 to 600-700 euros per piece of jewelry.
The Rebecca pricing concept has been transferred by the manufacturer to Russia. As a result, retail prices for Rebecca jewelry in the Moscow salon are almost the same as European ones.
Unlike other jewelry brands, Rebecca is almost the only manufacturer in the world whose products have a clear semantic focus. So the latest collection is called “The History of Civilization in Rebecca Jewelry” and combines symbols of the most ancient civilizations of our planet: the wisdom and militancy of the Polynesian Maori tribe, the culture of the Central American Aztec tribe, the strength of the African Tuaregs, the mysticism of the runes.
It is no secret that jewelry products are primarily associated with the fairer sex. Rebecca has not forgotten about the stronger half of humanity. A large part of the collection is intended for men. It was for them that the “Black” collection was created – jewelry with black diamonds.
