Paul Ditisheim (1868-1945) founded his manufacture in 1982 in Le Chaux-de-Fonds, and immediately made a name for himself as a manufacturer of high-precision chronometers and expensive jewelry watches. Taking part in observatory competitions of high-precision chronometry, he achieved significant success in both areas. He closely collaborated with the inventor Ch. E. Guillaume, introducing his special balance designs and Elinvar spirals, which have a self-compensating property and provide a more stable accuracy curve for the oscillating system. Also known are the works of Paul Ditisheim with the petrochemist Paul Woog, dedicated to the development of special oils of the Chronax series.
Paul Ditisheim watches are highly valued among collectors, they can be called the embodiment of that truly supreme Swiss quality, which became the peak of the development of the entire industry by the end of the 19th century.
