A young Italian and a regular at Parisian parties, Marco Panconesi, a graduate of my alma mater, Polimoda, founded his jewelry brand just two years ago, but has already managed to release a capsule collection with Net-a-porter and work with Mugler and Peter Pilotto. Before Panconesi, he worked at Givenchy with Riccardo Tisci and at Balenciaga with Alexander Wang, and then with Demna Gvasalia – today Marco is responsible for accessories at the Fenty fashion house.
The signature scattering of semi-precious stones and pearls seems to flash in the ears, on the neck, on the hands, reminiscent of the night sky. The jewelry looks luxurious, but is relatively inexpensive: prices start at $90. Marco Panconesi often says that he is inspired by the 1970s, and it shows: both his passion for epoxy resin and his jewelry “constellations” are reminiscent of the jewelry of another French designer, Pascal Morabito, which today can only be found in three antique shops in the world.
