Nobuko Ishikawa was born and spent her entire life in Japan, a fact that is strongly reflected in her jewelry work. At the very beginning of her career, she opened an atelier in the city of Ichikawa, which is not far from Tokyo, where she worked tirelessly, practicing the most complex techniques. Japanese high jewelry art has its own specifics, and Nobuko relied on it, only adding a European gait: this is an incredible subtlety of work, the use of Japanese lacquer and mother-of-pearl, a combination of copper and gold.
