The artist and sculptor Merry Renck is considered one of the pioneers of modern jewelry art in the United States. Having started working with enamel after the war, she quickly switched to wire and metal and began creating sculptural organic forms that were loved by connoisseurs on both sides of the ocean.
In 1969, like Michael Brandt, she was included in the exhibition and publication “Objects: USA” with her White Cloud Wedding Crown made of gold petals topped with 250 pearls. The object entered the MAD museum collection, and then more similar pieces were created in the jeweler’s workshop.
