Brothers Neiger Max and Norbert kept a jewelry workshop. Norbert graduated from a well-known technical school in the world of jewelry in the city of Jablonec (Czech Republic).
The Niger brothers divided the spheres of the family business: Norbert was the manager, and Max was the designer, headed the workshop.
Jewelry was made of gilded or nickel-plated filigree, decorated with enamel, colored glass imitating jade or coral, milk and uranium glass. The products of the company were made by hand, they were distinguished by a detailed study of all parts, as well as the back side.
In the 1920s, Egyptian and Chinese style jewelry was popular.
The history of the company, as well as the very fate of the Niger brothers, is short and tragic. Norbert and Max Nyger were at the height of their careers when the Nazi regime invaded their homeland and had to flee to Czechoslovakia. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia, they were arrested and in 1942 died in the concentration camp Auschwitz (Auschwitz).
The products of the Neiger brothers were not marked, but they can be recognized by their handiwork, the detailing of the metal decor, the unusual shape of the glass inserts, and the subtle transitions of the enamel colors.
