Marianne Hunter – Kabuki Series
Marianne Hunter, a self-taught jeweler from California, creates very interesting enamel jewelry. Her fascination with enamels began with an enamel making kit that she was given as a gift upon graduating from high school in 1967. In her work, Marianna does not recognize any restrictions and is guided only by her own artistic flair, which allows her to create interesting and vibrant jewelry that harmoniously combines a variety of materials – gold, silver, enamel, precious and ornamental stones.

“In 1967, when I graduated from high school and decided to devote my life to art, I was given a hobby enameling kit. It was a defining moment and I never looked back. Working without limits or bias has allowed me to freely invent unique enamelling processes, especially in the dry-applied grisaille technique… I imagine enamels, metals, stones and other media as artistic expressions working in harmony.”
