Lucinda Yates was born in America.
Her youth, lack of care and control from her mother brought her to California. Love, early marriage, pregnancy, no job, nowhere to live, Lucinda comes up with the idea of selling Native American-style beaded jewelry.
From production waste, plastic remnants, which were cut into geometric shapes: squares, rectangles, triangles, Lucinda began to create her famous houses.
The first few brooches houses were taken by one of the homeless shelters for 6 apiece, one of the “houses” was bought by a realtor, who later called and ordered 100 pieces. “Houses” began to disperse throughout America.
Citizens of America began to help the homeless by buying brooches houses in charitable organizations.
Houses under the trademark Lucinda are sold in England, Canada, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Australia, Hawaii, Jamaica, Iceland.
Lucinda employs 10 people and has over 8,000 charities commissioning jewelry.
