Once, at the beginning of the 17th century, a young chimney sweep, cleaning the chimney, heard a conspiracy against King Louis XII. Word for word, he conveyed all the information to his master, and he warned the three consuls of the pawnshop community, among them were members of the Mellerio family. After the king escaped the danger, they warned about the conspiracy and encouraged him. They were granted a special privilege – to conduct their business in Paris and throughout the country without administrative restrictions. This decree was recognized by subsequent kings, and families from the village of Val Vigezzo, among whom was the Mellerio family, have since become privileged citizens of the kingdom.

The Mellerio family has been engaged in jewelry business since the 17th century, and only in the 18th century did their brand become widely known in the elite circles of Paris. And in 1815, François Mellerio opened a shop on Rue de la Paix. This street in Paris is considered a symbol of French luxury. Today, among the many brilliant shops on this street, the jewelery house Mellerio dits Meller can be called its patriarch. This store of the company today is the only one in the world.

On the road to fame

The family’s jewelers served the queens by designing zaka jewelry, and the company soon became one of the most famous. Members of this family collected interesting interior items such as figurines, music boxes, porcelain, watches.

In the 19th century, Mellerio dits Meller participated in all the universal fairs and exhibitions held in Paris. And in London in 1862, the brand received an award for an amazing brooch in the form of a lilac branch. She seemed to exude romance, lyrics, and even some sadness. The branch was very believable, it seemed that when the time came it would wither.
