Jewelry brand Margot McKinney is part of (or even an extension) of the McKinney family business of jewelers. Margot is a fourth generation hereditary jeweler.
The family’s jewelry business was started by John McKinney, who came to Australia from his native Ireland in 1884 and settled in Queensland. Here he established his business and became, along with his wife Sarah, the main supplier of luxury goods to Australian clients.
In 1980, the family’s jewelry business was expanded – stores appeared in many cities in Australia. John McKinney became the holder of the Royal Warrant of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and from the fourth generation all McKinney nées: Margot, Sally and Jane – are involved in business.
In 2014, jewelry company McKinney celebrated its 130th anniversary. To this day, the McKinney name is synonymous with sophistication and luxury, as well as the highest quality and craftsmanship.
