Hieronymus Pozier (December 6, 1716 – November 30, 1779 (62 years old) was a jeweler for three empresses – Anna Ioannovna, Elizabeth Petrovna and Catherine the Great. He and his father came to Russia on foot from Switzerland in 1729. Here Pozier studied in the workshop French engraver Benoit Gravero and opened a workshop in 1740. He was patronized by Anna Ioannovna.
