Jeweler artist Alexey Barsukov is an extraordinary phenomenon. The very case when everything is combined in one person – an accurate eye, and humor, and kindness, and talent. There is no person who does not smile when looking at his creations. Alexei looks like a hero from Russian fairy tales – independent, savvy, witty, kind under the guise of a simpleton.
Jewelry from Alexei Barsukov can hardly be called standard, these are products for those who believe in a miracle, in a fairy tale. On the one hand, it seems that his jewelry is a frivolous style for children, but in fact, all his creations are truly priceless, for example, Elton John wears his cross-shaped pendant.
Barsukov’s jewelry looks touching and ironic: brooches – in the form of giraffes, mended bears based on the poem “They dropped the bear on the floor …” or pirate bears, pendants – in the form of a fabulous Scarecrow, funny penguins or cutlery, earrings in the form of pistols, crescents, flies, baby rocking horses or airplanes with propellers spinning.
Some things are based on the works of Van Gogh and Modigliani. Many of Barsukov’s decorations are double-sided: for example, on one side there is a quite respectable stone, and on the back there is a mischievous dog’s muzzle.
The jeweler adheres to the rule: exquisite jewelry should not be expensive, he works with gold, silver and diamonds, but also creates stunning pieces from ordinary metal alloys. Alexey Barsukov creates rather cheap designer jewelry, his products are chic and simplicity, glamor and Russian fairy tales, grace and “aged” jewelry.
The designer actively cooperates both with Russian jewelry brands such as Alexander Arne and with foreign trading houses, in particular with Swiss ones.
