History of the company
The Doxa brand is the bearer of centuries-old traditions of watchmaking. The company was founded in Switzerland in 1889. Its founder George Ducommun came from a poor family with many children. To help his family, he worked part-time in a watch workshop from the age of 12. It was then that the talented boy fell in love with the watchmaking craft, which made him famous throughout the world. At the age of 20, Ducommun opened a watchmaking company called Doxa. The company produces watches for the automotive and aviation industries and pocket chronometers. The products participate in international exhibitions, receive prestigious awards and become popular in Europe.
Later, Doxa begins to produce watch collections for travel, walks, hunting, as well as jewelry lines. In 1968, the brand’s model range is replenished with diving chronometers – unique accessories with a unidirectional bezel and a bright orange dial for perfect readability under water.
In 1997, the Doxa company was bought by the Jenny family. Since then, the brand has been actively promoting itself in Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Balkans. The brand annually develops new and reissues old collections, improving the models.
