Arcana Elizabeth Reimer – 1950s – 1969
Elisabeth Reimer, the daughter of a Hungarian jeweler who immigrated to Australia, started making jewelry in her garage in the early 50s. She was able to expand the business in the 60s, but the production was still handmade and in small quantities, so her jewelry is now very hard to find.

Newspaper clippings promoting Elizabeth’s jewelry are held in the archives of the National Library of Australia. In this description presented, the jewelry is described as being finely hand-welded using a soft enamel process on matte gold. The collections feature local plants and flowers depicted in Art Nouveau.

Another quote from the same archive: Honored for its fine craftsmanship, handicrafts and traditional techniques, Elizabeth Reimer’s jewelry is attracting collectors in the US and Australia.
Marking her products with the inscription “Arkansas” or “Elizabeth Reimer”.
