For the first time the world started talking about the brand back in the forties of the last century. Then, for 50 years, Delizza & Elster was the premier costume jewelry manufacturer in the States, and the number of successful transactions with clients around the world almost reached a record thousand. Among the customers of D&E were such well-known brands as: Hattie Carnegie, Weiss, Karu and others.
Starting in 1953, the company began to expand its activities, which were no longer limited to wholesale orders alone. From now on, in the largest stores in America, one could see goods with a personal D&E tag. After almost 15 years, this collection of vintage jewelry was even given a name – Juliana. The marking with the name was not put on the jewelry itself, but it was written on the cardboard tag that was attached to it.
Many collectors argue about what Juliana has to do with the De Lizza & Elster brand, which wished to leave antique jewelry under the name D&E, but fate decreed that Juliana became more famous among collectors. On the vintage market, these works of art are worth several thousand dollars. Nevertheless, interest in them is only growing, and only D&E professionals along with several collectors can distinguish genuine products of this brand from, albeit expensive, but fakes.
