History of one brand: Catamore Jewelry Co
Catamore Jewelry Co. occupies a worthy place among the vintage brands of the USA. Inc, created by the Italian Catanzaro couple, Christopher and Phyllis. The company produced jewelry for almost forty years from 1942 to 1981. Little is known about the Catanzaro themselves. Based on the very name of Catanzaro, it can be assumed that they were emigrants from the South of Italy, from the province of Catanzaro. The agricultural South of Italy was economically underdeveloped, people had to work hard to somehow provide for the life of the family.
In Italy, recruiters from the United States were active. They brought the hope of a decent life overseas to the poor. For 70 years from 1880 to 1950, Italian emigrants were the most numerous in America. Having crossed the ocean in search of a better life, the Italians faced the same hard work, unfavorable living conditions and dangerous diseases. And although the adaptation was difficult, the Italians strongly influenced the formation of such aspects of modern US life as food and culture.
The Catanzaro couple belongs to those lucky emigrants who were able to find their place under the American sun.
