In 2021, the French house Boucheron delighted us with its new high jewelery line. Creative Director Claire Shuan never looks for easy ways. Striving to find new solutions, she studies modern materials and the latest technological innovations in order to use them when creating jewelry.
In the spring of 2020, the French house Boucheron introduced the new Timeless high jewelery line. It consists of the Chevron, Vendôme and Liseré collections, as well as the Parfum ring with cabochon-cut tanzanite.
According to Claire Chuan, the main source of inspiration for Liseré’s jewelry was a trip to Russia. She spent several weeks traveling the Golden Circle and was impressed by the beauty of the birch groves. This is how a ring, bracelet and earrings in white gold with transparent baguette-cut diamonds appeared.
The image of snow and the dark tree trunks that stand out against its background was recreated by Shuang using impeccably clear emerald-cut diamonds enclosed in white gold with a subtle edging of black lacquer. This combination creates the feeling of a mesmerizing radiance.
Here I would like to recall the large 2017 collection Hiver Imperial, inspired by the endless expanses of the northern country.
Hiver Imperial is a collection from a winter fairy tale with a Slavic heritage in three thematic areas: nature, the beauty of northern women and architecture.
FEMMES BOREALES
– and this chapter glorifies the beauty of northern women, “… with beautiful strength in movements, with gait, with the gaze of queens …”, living in a snow-white fairyland, surrounded by harsh nature, dressed in a pearl waterfall and precious stones.
The Russian winter has always been a powerful source of inspiration for poets and artists. Winter fascinates with its radiance, overflows of snow and the magic of sleeping nature.
LUMIERE DE NUIT is a jewelry poem that recreates the splendor of snow-white landscapes.
L ANNEAU D OR – a chapter dedicated to the architecture of the princely cities of Russia with picturesque roofs, temple domes with diamond pavé, ice floes, shining mother-of-pearl and rock crystal, moonstone pierced by the bright radiance of the moon of the northern night. Ultra-graphic necklaces, rings and earrings are inspired by the Naryshkin Baroque architecture of northeastern Moscow. The color scheme of the jewelry is permeated with the bright light of a winter day and the crystal clarity of the night.
The harsh time of the year, performed by the French jewelry house, looks like a fairy tale. The designer makes snowflakes from rock crystal and creates snowballs from pearls, conveying the beauty of minerals through images of nature. All of Boucheron’s creations are magnificent, but these pieces of jewelry will be especially dear to us.
