Today, Asprey is one of the largest jewelry companies in the world. The company offers its customers a huge selection of jewelry, accessories, watches, dishes, bags and other luxury products. The history of Asprey is the story of two long-standing jewelry houses, Garrard and Asprey, with a rich history and established traditions.
The brand was founded by Garrard in 1735 in London by the successful craftsman Georg Wickes. When Wickes was 24 years old, he was already a member of the Jewelers’ Guild and became famous for his work in the Rococo style. With its exquisite jewelry work and refined taste, this brand’s jewelry has gained fame among many royalty. During the periods of its existence, the company was repeatedly passed from hand to hand, replacing its owners. Thus, in 1760, his apprentices John Parker and Enward Wakelin came to replace the founder. There was also a time when John Wakelin, William Taylor and Robert Gerard took over the leadership. It should be noted that Robert Gerard registered the company in 1909 under the name Garrard & Company Ltd.
The second jewelry house of Asprey was created in 1781 in England by William Asprey, a descendant of French settlers. Soon after the creation of the first jewelry studio, his business took off, and already in the middle of the 19th century, profits from sales allowed the company to acquire huge production capacity and hire a large staff.
During its existence, the Asprey brand has produced a variety of products, such as knives, jewelry, boxes, etc. In 1859, the owners of the brand decided to buy another company that produced luxury travel bags and owned a whole team of well-trained artisans. This had a positive impact on the history of the brand, which allowed it to somewhat expand the range of products published by Asprey pendant.
In 1998, two jewelry companies Asprey and Garrard merged into one. And already in 2000, the new enterprise was transferred to the ownership of investors Silian Chow and Lawrence Stroll. Now the company’s divisions exist in the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, there are many boutiques of this company in the world that offer their customers exclusive jewelry and other products.
